“The body benefits from movement, and the mind benefits from stillness.” - Sakyong Mipham
Join Sandy Pause Yoga for beginner yoga classes! These practices will help you learn fundamental yoga postures and techniques to release tension and cultivate spaciousness in your body and your breath. Each class is designed to make yoga accessible and supportive for all students, including yogis managing chronic issues, physical limitations and more, and will include a mix of seated, standing and mat-based poses to meet you where you are. Mindful movement, pranayama (breathwork), meditation, and long savasanas (resting poses) offer an integrated practice to enhance strength and flexibility on and off our yoga mats. Brand new students or students returning to yoga after an absence of any length are most welcome.
Location Information: Class will take place at the Community House in Beverly Shores, Indiana (near the intersection of Highway 12 and Broadway Avenue— from Highway 12, turn onto Broadway, then take the very first left onto Service Road, and the Community House will be on your right just before the cul de sac).
Registration: Students are asked to RSVP in advance by sending an email to sandypauseyoga@gmail.com by 10:00 a.m. the morning of class with the student’s name and cell phone number. All students will be asked to sign a waiver in advance or at the Community House in order to participate in class. Please bring a yoga or exercise mat with you to class, plus a sweater or sweatshirt to be cozy during our savasana (resting pose) at the end of class.
Cost: These are donation classes with a suggested donation of $5-$15 per class, and any donation is gratefully received. Donations can be made via Venmo (@SandyPauseYoga), PayPal (sandypauseyoga@gmail.com), or in cash— thank you for your support!
