"Happy Campers" Saturday Sangha Class

“Happy Campers” Saturday Sangha Class

In Pantanjali’s sacred text, “The Yoga Sutras,” he outlines an 8-fold path, known as the Eight Limbs of Yoga, which includes the third (asana/poses) and fourth (pranayama/breath work) limbs that are most familiar to yoga students.  Together, the Eight Limbs provide a rich framework for our yoga practice on the mat, and for restoring us to unity of body, mind and spirit in our lives.

This month, Saturday Sangha classes are focused on the second limb of the 8-fold path:  the Niyamas, which are internal codes of conduct, sometimes referred to as personal observances.  The Niyamas are essentially moral guidelines outlining how to conduct ourselves in healthy ways.  The second Niyama is “Santosha,” which refers to contentment.  Santosha is a practice of centering ourselves in our abundance, living in and from a place of gratitude.  It is an invitation to release expectations on external factors for joy so that we can awaken to the inner richness of our lives, welcoming each moment as it unfolds.

In this all levels class, we will move mindfully through a sequence of asanas (poses) to release physical tension and find joy and freedom in movement.  Class will conclude with pranayama (breath work) and a luxurious savasana (resting pose).

Individual classes are $15 and payment can be sent via Venmo to SandyPauseYoga. See the “Pricing and Packages” page for additional information. All classes are listed in central (DST) time.
