"Seeding our Sankalpa" Saturday Sangha Yoga

“Seeding our Sankalpa” Saturday Sangha Class

Sankalpa is a Sanskrit term that refers to our personal and unique heartfelt desires.  Unlike New Year’s resolutions which are oftentimes driven by ego impulses to “fix” ourselves, a sankalpa is a solemn vow—a resolve—to hear and respond to our innermost truth.  As Buddhist spiritual teacher Jack Kornfield reminds us, “We do not have to improve ourselves; we just have to let go of what blocks our heart.”  This all levels yoga class will include a series of asanas (poses) to cultivate strength and flexibility in our bodies, including heart-opening asanas to enliven our spirit energy to respond to the deepest callings of our heart as we begin this new trip around the sun.  Class will conclude with a yoga nidra (yogic sleep) guided meditation and a luxurious savasana (resting pose).  By practicing together and sharing time on our mats and with our breath, we join a global community (sangha) of yogis.

Classes are $15 and payment can be sent via Venmo to SandyPauseYoga. All classes are listed in central (CST) time.
